ICE, Hitmen Collide on Cranbrook Colts Night

Cranbrook, B.C. - The Kootenay ICE (7-12-2-1) host the Calgary Hitmen (6-12-2-0) for the second time this season on Friday, November 16.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.

The ICE are coming off of a 5-2 win over the Regina Pats on Tuesday, November 13. The ICE received goals from Martin Bodak, Cole Muir, Cam Hausinger, Zachary Patrick and Dallas Hines. Patrick scored his first career WHL goal in the game, while Hausinger and Brett Davis each recorded two points. Goaltender Duncan McGovern was awarded third star after stopping 38-of-40 shots that came his way. The ICE were outshot 40-33. They went 1-for-5 on the power play, 4-for-4 on the penalty kill and won 31-of-76 face-offs.

The ICE have amassed 17 points this season, which is good for fifth in the Central Division and ninth in the Eastern Conference.

The ICE have a home record of 5-6-1-0.

The Hitmen haven't played since November 11, where they hosted the ICE and picked up a 7-3 victory. Friday's game marks the first of seven consecutive games away from Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary for the Hitmen. During their road swing, they will also visit Spokane, Everett, Portland, Seattle, Tri-City and Red Deer. The Hitmen's next home game isn't until December 1 when they host the Edmonton Oil Kings. Heading into Friday's game, the Hitmen are sixth in the Central Division and 10th in the Eastern Conference.

As mentioned above, the Hitmen are coming off of a 7-3 victory over the ICE on Sunday, November 11. Riley Stotts scored two goals while Carson Focht, James Malm, Egor Zamula, Tye Carriere and Mark Kastelic potted the others. Goaltender Jack McNaughton stopped 29-of-32 shots that came his way. The Hitmen outshot the ICE 44-32. They went 2-for-4 on the power play, 6-for-8 on the penalty kill and won 32-of-59 face-offs.

The Hitmen have collected 14 points, which is good for sixth in the Central Division and 10th in the Eastern Conference.

The Hitmen have a road record of 3-6-0-0.

HEAD TO HEAD

This will be the third meeting of the season between the ICE and the Hitmen. These two teams will play six times before the 2018-19 regular season is done. The next meeting will be on January 27 in Calgary.

The ICE are 4-6-1-0 in its last 11 games against the Hitmen at Western Financial Place. Overall, both home and away, the ICE are 6-13-1-3 in its last 23 games against the Hitmen.
