
Ice crush visiting Aviators

Toledo, OH. In front of a large crowd at the Student Health and Activity Center on the campus of Owens Community College, the Toledo Ice crushed the visiting Ohio Aviators 140-56 in one of the most one-sided games of the season. The Ice got off to a quick start and never looked back taking a 42-16 lead at the end of the first quarter and 82-231 at the half.
The Ice dressed only eight players and all contributed double figures in the socring column. Gameli Ahelegbe led the team with 6 steals and 19 point. Solomon Edwards had 5 assists and 11 points. Levy Jones, playing with an injured knee, had one of his biggest scoring nights of the season contributing 23 points while newcomer guard Rashard Carson had 20 and former St. John's High School star Jake Beck had 12 points and 11 rebounds. Jamel Staten led the socring with 27 points while Emeka Oknokwo almost had a double double with 18 points and 9 rebounds.
The Ice will host a first round playoff game on Monday, March 13th with the opponent to be determined. It will be played at the SHAC. For more information, visit www.toledoicebasketball.com or www.abalive.com.
