Colorado Crush News Release
FORT COLLINS, CO - The Colorado ICE (0-2) return home to the Budweiser Events Center to tackle the Bloomington Extreme (3-1) this Saturday, April 11th at 7 p.m. at the Budweiser Events Center. This will be the first and only time the ICE and the Extreme will meet this season.
"The Extreme are a strong team coming in with a solid record," ICE Head Coach Collins Sanders said. "Bloomington played in the championship game last year and look to be improved this year. ICE fans will get to see Heisman Trophy finalist and former Cincinnati Bengal Peter Warrick at wide receiver. We have come up just short in two close games so far this year. We have made some adjustments and have had a good week of practice. We are looking forward to taking on Bloomington this Saturday."
The ICE are coming off a tough road-loss last Saturday, April 4th to the San Angelo Stampede Express with a heartbreaking 48-47 final score. Scoring was back and forth between the two teams throughout the entire game, with the Stampede Express securing the victory in the final seconds. The Extreme have won three in a row, and are coming off a 40-10 victory against the Sioux City Bandits last Saturday. Bloomington held the Bandits scoreless for three quarters, forced four turnovers, and racked up 172 offensive yards in the victory. The ICE last played the Extreme on March 28th, 2008 with the ICE winning 43-23.
Saturday's game theme will be Hometown Heroes, honoring policemen and firemen of our Northern Colorado community. Additionally, the first 500 fans (over 21 years of age) in the door will receive a free Colorado Ice rally towel.
