ICE Clash with Pats to Begin Three-In-Three

Cranbrook, B.C. - The Kootenay ICE begin a three-game in three-day stretch on Friday, October 12 when it welcomes the Regina Pats to Western Financial Place.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.

Friday's game is labeled 'Wilderness Camo Jersey Night', where one-time only, limited-edition camo jerseys will be worn by ICE players. ICE Country is also encouraged to wear camo clothing to Friday's contest.

The ICE are coming off of a 5-0 victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers on Monday, October 8, 2018. Brendan Semchuk, Davis Murray, Keenan Taphorn, Brad Ginnell and Sam Huston collected the goals for the ICE. Goaltender Duncan McGovern stopped a career-high 45 shots for his first shutout of the season and the third shutout of his WHL career. The ICE were outshot 45-34. The ICE went 0-for-2 on the power play, 1-for-1 on the penalty kill and won 32-of-72 face-offs.

The ICE have collected six points this season, which is good for fifth in the Central Division and ninth in the Eastern Conference.

The Regina Pats continue a three-game road trip when they visit the Kootenay ICE on Friday, October 12, 2018. The Pats haven't visited Western Financial Place since March 9. The Pats have lost two-straight games, including a 4-2 defeat to the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Wednesday, October 10. In that game, Riley Krane and Robbie Holmes scored for the Pats while goaltender Max Paddock stopped 29-of-33 shots. The Pats were outshot 33-26. They went 1-for-3 on the power play, 1-for-2 on the penalty kill and won 19-of-60 faceoffs.

The Pats have collected two points this season, which is good for fifth in the East Division and 10th in the Eastern Conference.

HEAD TO HEAD DURING THE 2017-18 SEASON

This is the first meeting of the season between the ICE and the Pats. The next time these two teams will collide will be on Tuesday, November 13 at Western Financial Place.
