Sich's Second Four Goal Night Sparks Outlaws Over Whalers

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa - For the second time this season Rob Sich found the twine four time in an Outlaws win in front of the home crowd at Airmen Pond at Historic Bowman Field, as the Outlaws skate past the Danbury Whalers 7-1.

The Outlaws got on the board first like a night ago in the first period on a goal from Rob Sich (22) at the 10:44 mark of the period from Chris LeVeille and Nick Van Den Beld. The goal extended Sich's point streak to eight games, in which he has scored a goal in each of his last six games. LeVeille extended his point streak to seven games.

In the second period, Williamsport continued their attack getting a goal from Rob Sich (23) at the 4:52 mark of the period from Kevin Hamel and Jeff Winchester. Winchester extended his point streak to a team high nine games.

Martin Moucha made it 3-0 Outlaws with a shorthanded goal (10) from Nathan Oke and Winchester at the 7:21 mark. Oke extended his point streak to three games with the aassist.

Danbury's Mike Atkinson scored a power play goal at the 7:48 mark to make it a two goal deficit. That would be the only goal the Whalers would score on the night.

Williamsport continued their scoring in the second period when Sich tallied the hat trick goal (24) at the 13:21 mark of the period from LeVeille and Oke to make it 4-1 Outlaws.

LeVeille would make it 5-1 going into the second intermission with his 11th goal of the season at the 13:35 mark from Van Den Beld and Winchester.

LeVeille would score his second of the night (12) on the power play at the 6:12 mark from Sich and Winchester to make it 6-1 Outlaws.

Sich would score his fourth goal of the night, and his league leading 25th on the season on the power play at the 8:10 mark from LeVeille and Brett Needham. Needham extended his point streak to eight games.

Chris Whitley started in net for the Outlaws but left the game in the second period with an apparent injury. Whitley made 20 saves on 21 shots faced, allowing the lone goal to the Whalers.

Mike DiLorenzo replaced Whitley and stopped all 25 shots that he faced from the second period on.

Nick Neidert got the loss, making 19 saves on 26 shots faced.

Williamsport hosts the 1000 Island Privateers tomorrow night at Airmen Pond at Historic Bowman Field.

1000 Islands' McAllister Big Game Bests Cape Cod in 5-2 Win

WATERTOWN- The 1000 Islands Privateers avenged their loss last Saturday with a win tonight over the Cape Cod Blue Fins. The game ended in a 5-2 win for the Privateers.

The Privateers opened up the scoring with a goal by Adam McAllister 5:09 into the period. The Blue Fins responded with a goal by Casey Mignone 8:22 left in the period. Adam McAllister continued his career night with a power play goal 7:50 left in the period to give the Privateers a 2-1 lead going into the second period.

The second period was a close match between the two teams. The Privateers' Adam McAllister showed that in their home game that the crowd was behind him. McAllister made the game 3-1 with a goal 8:33 into the period.

The third period made the game closer when Cape Cod made the game a one score game. Taylor Larsen of the Blue Fins scored on a short-handed play to make the score 3-2. The Privateers showed their strength on power plays and the third period showed that. The final two goals were scored by Corey Bellamy and Adam McAllister on power plays.

The Privateers will play their next game tomorrow night against the Williamsport Outlaws. Entering the game the Privateers will have a record of 10-7. The game against Williamsport will determine second place in the league.

Danville's Comeback Falls Short, Dayton Wins 5-4

In almost a carbon copy of last night's game, the Dayton Demonz defeated the Danville Dashers 5-4. The story of the game was the Dashers power play which was 0 for 5 on the night, including a 5 on 3 power play for two minutes late in the second period. Nick Petriello opened the scoring for Dayton on a one-timer from Ahmed Mahfouz 8:46 into the first period. After a Lee McClure tripping penalty Luke Flicek extended the Demonz lead by knocking in a rebound shot from Jason Hill. Almost exactly one minute later Jason Hill rifled a shot over the shoulder of Dashers goaltender Jo St. Pierre to make it 3-0 at the end of the first period.

The Dashers got off to a hot start in the second period when Dustin Skinner tupped in a Ryan Huggett shot to cut the lead to two goals. Darick Ste Marie scored at the 7:39 mark of the second period on a play set up by Lee McClure and Todd McIlrath.

Metz extended the Demonz lead just a few minutes later, and at the 16:19 mark Ste Marie scored again on a pass from McClure to make it 4-3 heading in to the final frame.

Petriello's second was the eventual game winner just 4:12 into the third period. The Dashers comeback attempt began with a highlight real goal from McIlrath at the 17:39 mark.
