Cranbrook, B.C. - The Kootenay ICE (7-20-3-1) host the Lethbridge Hurricanes (14-8-3-2) for the first time this season on Wednesday, December 5, 2018.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.

It is also Walk-up Wednesday's, where walk-up tickets are 25% off.

The ICE are coming off of a 10-2 loss to the Portland Winterhawks on Sunday, December 2, 2018. The ICE received goals from Peyton Krebs and Nolan Orzeck, while River Fahey, Martin Bodak and Jaeger White picked up the assists. Goaltender Duncan McGovern stopped 13-of-18 shots he faced in 28 minutes of work, while Jesse Makaj blocked 23-of-28 in 31 minutes of action. For the Winterhawks, Cody Glass, Joachim Blichfeld, Jared Freadrich each recorded five points. The ICE were outshot 46-26. They went 1-for-5 on the power play, 2-for-6 on the penalty kill and won 28-of-65 face-offs.

The ICE have amassed 18 points this season, which is good for sixth in the Central Division and 10th in the Eastern Conference.

The ICE have a home record of 5-11-1-0.

The 'Canes enter Wednesday's contest on a three-game winning streak and have collected points in six-straight games. Wednesday's game kicks off a three-game road trip for the 'Canes, who will also visit Spokane and Tri-City before returning home and hosting Kelowna on December 12. Currently, the Hurricanes are second in the Central Division and fifth in the Eastern Conference.

The 'Canes are coming off of a 5-4 overtime victory over the Red Deer Rebels on Sunday, December 2. The 'Canes were led by Taylor Ross, who registered four points including a hat trick. Dylan Cozens and Nolan Jones added the other goals. Jake Elmer recorded three assists in the game, while Cozens helped out with one goal and two assists. Goaltender Carl Tetachuk stopped 28-of-32 shots in the victory. The 'Canes outshot Red Deer 41-32. They went 1-for-3 on the power play, 3-for-3 on the penalty kill and won 26-of-66 face-offs.

The 'Canes have collected 33 points this season, which is good for second in the Central Division and fifth in the Eastern Conference.

The 'Canes have a road record of 6-4-3-0.

HEAD TO HEAD

This is the second meeting of the season between the ICE and the Hurricanes. The last time these two teams met was October 16, a 6-3 victory for the 'Canes.
