
ICE Begin March Schedule by Hosting Broncos

Cranbrook, B.C. - The Kootenay ICE (11-39-7-3) begin its March schedule with a date against the Swift Current Broncos (10-44-3-2) on Friday, March 1.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.
Friday's game is the annual WHL Suits up with Don Cherry to Promote Organ Donation - Presented by RE/MAX. All ICE players will wear special Don Cherry-themed jerseys with nicknames on the back.

The Kootenay ICE are coming off of a 5-1 loss to the Moose Jaw Warriors on February 24. Forward Owen Pederson scored the lone goal for the ICE, assisted by Jakin Smallwood and Jaeger White. Goaltender Curtis Meger stopped 26-of-31 shots. The Warriors received goals from Tristin Langan, Brayden Tracey, Justin Almeida, Keenan Taphorn and Tate Popple. Goaltender Brodan Salmond blocked 26-of-27 shots. The ICE were outshot 31-27. They went 1-for-4 on the power play, 2-for-5 on the penalty kill and won 29-of-65 face-offs.
The ICE have amassed 32 points this season, which is good for sixth in the Central Division and 11th in the Eastern Conference.
The ICE have a home record of 7-19-3-0.

The Swift Current Broncos visit the Kootenay ICE for the second and final time this season on Friday, March 1. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT. Currently, the Broncos are on a seven-game road stretch. Tonight's game will be game three of that road stretch. The Broncos are 0-2-0-0 on the trip so far, dropping games to Edmonton and Calgary. The Broncos play nine games in the month of March, tonight's game is the first. Heading into tonight's game, the Broncos are sixth in the East Division and 12th in the Eastern Conference.
The Broncos are coming off of a 9-3 loss to the Calgary Hitmen on February 27. The Broncos received goals from Carter Chorney, Connor Horning and Matthew Culling. Goaltender Isaac Poulter blocked 23-of-32 shots. The Broncos were outshot 32-14. They went 0-for-3 on the power play, 3-for-5 on the penalty kill and won 26-of-68 face-offs.
