Cranbrook, B.C. - "I don't think there's anyone more deserving."

ICE Alumnus Colin Sinclair wasn't surprised when he learned that Jarret Stoll would be the first inductee into the newly launched ICE Hall of Fame.

"As soon as I heard it was him, I really didn't think there was any other choice," explained Sinclair, who played with Stoll from 1998-2002.

On February 6, the ICE announced that Stoll would be the first inductee into the ICE Hall of Fame. The hall of fame was created to recognize and honour former ICE players and staff who made outstanding contributions on and off the ice during their time with the organization.

With two WHL Championships and one Memorial Cup on his resume, there is no doubt that Stoll's time with the ICE was impactful and will always be remembered.

The ICE selected Stoll in the first round of the 1997 WHL Bantam Draft. Sinclair was the first selection in the second round that year.

During their four years together, Sinclair witnessed what Stoll was all about on the ice.

"He was one of those quiet leaders, he led by example," said Sinclair.

"He was the first to the puck, first to make an example and get the guys going. He was one of those quiet leaders that you really looked upon for strength just in the way he played."

Stoll's imprint on the organization remains today. The Melville, Saskatchewan native is second in franchise history for goals (124), assists (162), points (286) and power play goals (54). Meanwhile, Sinclair ranks fourth in games played (325).

"I don't think there's anyone more deserving and there's no one that exemplifies what the Kootenay ICE are all about," stated Sinclair.

The Jarret Stoll ICE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on March 2 prior to the game between the ICE and the Calgary Hitmen.
