Hurricanes Snap Skid with Blowout Win over Titans
KITCHENER ON - A 41-point first quarter propelled the Hurricanes to a 136-108 win over the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans on Sunday afternoon, halting Halifax three-game slide.
Malcom Duvivier provided early firepower off the Hurricanes bench to give Halifax a big lead to start the game with. Duvivier hit four from deep in the opening quarter and finished the game with a season-high 21 points.
While Duvivier delivered the Hurricanes their lead, Mike Poole and Jordan Washington secured it, finishing with team-highs of 25 points each. Poole hit five of six from three, dished out six assists and grabbed two steals and blocked a shot on the defensive end.
Washington got his way in the post, going 9-11 from the floor and converting 70 per cent of his free throws.
Meshack Lufile also came up big off the bench for Halifax. He scored 16 points in his 22 minutes.
Rhamel Brown anchored the defence. He finished with a double-double: 11 points, 11 rebounds, two blocked shots and a steal.
The only Hurricanes not to score on Sunday was Cliff Clinkscales, who still dished out a game-high seven assists.
