A 26-point rout of the visiting Island Storm secured the best regular season record in the league for the Halifax Hurricanes and gives them home-court advantage all the way through the playoffs.

Winning 118-92 in their last regular season home game, the Hurricanes have just one game left to play for the 2017-18 National Basketball League of Canada season.

Billy White was the leading scorer for the Hurricanes with 20 points to go with eight rebounds.

Mike Poole provided big scoring off the bench with 18 points.

Hurricanes Head Coach Mike Leslie was able to rest his starters for the entire fourth quarter and reserve player Ashton Khan stepped up with 13 points.

The Hurricanes will end the regular season Saturday in Cape Breton where they will face the Highlanders.

Then next Thursday, April 5, the Hurricanes open up the playoff against either the Island Storm or the Saint John Riptide. Tickets for that game are available at the Ticket Atlantic Box Office or online.
