
Hurricanes Fall to Mill Rats

Halifax, (NS) - The Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club were in action April 9th at the Habour Station against the Saint John Mill Rats. The Hurricanes fell 110-103 to the Mill Rats. The Hurricanes now have a record of 22-9, leading the Atlantic Conference and the league in wins. With this loss the Mill Rats have a record of 21-12 and are in second place in the Atlantic Division.
Mill Rats led the Hurricanes 21-27 after the first quarter, and at halftime the Hurricanes tied the score 48-48. The Mill Rats outscored the Hurricanes 23-27 in the third quarter, and in the fourth quarter the Mill Rats outscored the Hurricanes 33-35, enough to earn a victory over the Hurricanes.
Forward, Mike Glover led the Hurricanes with 25 points and 12 rebounds. Center, Kyle Hunt scored 14 points and totaled 10 rebounds. Guard, Joel Friesen scored 12 points. Guard, Justin Johnson scored 12 points. Guard, Shane Gibson scored 11 points.
Guard, Doug Herring Jr. led all scorers with 26 points and 8 assists. Forward, Gabe Freeman scored 24 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Guard, Anthony Anderson scored 24 points. Forward, Johnny Mayhane scored 11 points. Forward, Jean-Richard Volcy scored 11 points.
The Hurricanes will face the Saint John Mill Rats again tomorrow in Halifax at the Scotiabank Centre at 2:00pm.
