HALIFAX, N.S. - After trailing by as much as 21 in the first quarter, the Halifax Hurricanes battled back against the Moncton Magic in Game 4 of the NBL Canada Atlantic finals but fell 94-89 in the end.
An early 20-1 run by the Magic put the Hurricanes on their heels as they struggled to score in the first quarter, and were out-paced 32-15 to start the game. They were able to battle back with a 32-point quarter of their own in the second, heading into the halftime break down by just 12.
From there they chipped away until it was a one-possession game in the fourth quarter, but Halifax couldn't stick the landing and fell by five.
The Hurricanes comeback was initiated off the bench. Joel Kindred and Malcolm Duvivier provided firepower for the Hurricanes when they had no other options.
Kindred finished with 13 points and six rebounds, while Duvivier was back in late-season form with 13 points.
Terry Thomas fought through tough Magic defence to finish with a team-high 16 points to go with seven assists.
Fellow starters Chadrack Lufile and Mike Poole each finished with 10.
The series is tied up at two games apiece. Game 5 will happen on Wednesday, May 1 in Moncton at 7 p.m. with Game 6 coming back to Halifax on Friday, May 3 at 7 p.m. Watch HalifaxHurricanes.ca and social media for ticket information.
