Magic Look to Tie Series Tonight After Coming up Short in Game 3

April 29, 2019 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Moncton Magic News Release

Moncton was unable to make any significant run down the stretch. Every time Moncton made a run, Halifax answered back. Moncton finds themselves down 2-1, losing to Halifax at the Scotiabank Centre, 97-91. I predict another bounce back performance by the Magic come Game 4 as these division rivals continue to trade punches.

Live and die by the three. Two enormous contributing factors to Moncton's unfavourable Game 3 outcome was shooting 3-24 (12.5%) from downtown and being out assisted 14 to 27 by Halifax. Trey Kell led the way once again with a double-double performance of 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Billy White recorded 17 points, 7 rebounds and a team-high 5 assists. Marcus Lewis put up 17 points, including multiple jaw dropping slams. While Corey Allmond had 10 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals.

The Terry Thomas and Mike Poole show. For the Halifax Hurricanes, Thomas and Poole have been their 1-2 scoring punch for the majority of the season, especially during the postseason. Terry Thomas was feeling it during the 1st quarter, scoring 15 points while going 6-6 from the field and 3-3 from three. He finished with a game-high 31 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks. Mike Poole on the other hand got it going during the 4th quarter, scoring 14 of his 16 points. He finished with 16 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. While Cliff Clinkscales controlled the pace of his team, contributing 9 points and 10 assists.

Game 4 of the Atlantic Division Finals between the Moncton Magic and Halifax Hurricanes will happen in Halifax on Monday, April 29th at 7pm. The Magic will look to even up the series at two games apiece, while the Hurricanes will seek out a comfortable 3-1 advantage. Tune into NBLC Live for complete playoff coverage.
