A fourth-quarter comeback was cut short and the Halifax Hurricanes lost Game 3 of the National Basketball League of Canada Atlantic Division Finals to the Moncton Magic in Moncton on Tuesday night.

With the 107-96 victory, the Magic cut into the Hurricanes series lead to make it 2-1 for Halifax.

Only leading for a few minutes in the first quarter, the Hurricanes trailed the Magic for the majority of the game, only cutting the lead to single digits in the final moments of the game.

The Hurricanes' offense was led by forward Billy White, who had 21 points, including five three-pointers and he adjusts his tradition physical post game to a defense-stretching scoring threat in this pivotal series. White pulled down five boards and dished out four assists to go with his scoring.

Mike Poole had 18 points and eight rebounds off the bench and starting guard Antoine Mason found his offense in the fourth quarter to lead the comeback attempt. Mason finished with 17 points and eight boards.

Rhamel Brown played a physical game on both ends of the floor, scoring 12 points to go with his nine rebounds and two blocks. Brown left the game in the fourth after fall on his side.

As a team, the Hurricanes were uncharacteristically poor from the free-throw line, converting less than 56 per cent of their shots from the charity stripe.

Game 4 will happen on Thursday night at 7 p.m. in Moncton. You can watch that game live online on HalifaxHurricanes.ca.

The series then heads back to Halifax for Game 5 at the Scotiabank Centre. Come out and cheer on your Hurricanes this Saturday at 7 p.m. Tickets will be available at the Ticket Atlantic Box Office or online. Check our site, Facebook and Twitter for ticket availability details.
