
Hurricanes Fall to London Lightning in Game 6 of NBL Canada Finals by Buzzer Beater

Halifax, (NS) - Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club were in action Sunday June 12th at the Scotiabank Centre for Game 6 of NBL Canada Finals against the London Lightning. Crowd attendance was 2,133. The Lightning defeated the Hurricanes 91-93 on a buzzer beater put back by Stephen Maxwell of the Lightning.
Lightning outscored the Hurricanes after the first quarter 23-29, and in the second quarter the Hurricanes outscored the Lightning 20-12 - at Halftime the Hurricanes led 43-41. In the third quarter the Lightning outscored the Hurricanes 22-31, and in the final quarter the Hurricanes outscored Lightning 26-21; the Lightning earned the 91-93 victory.
Guard, Justin Johnson led the Hurricanes with 26 points. Forward, Mike Glover scored 14 points. Center, Kyle Hunt scored 14 points. Forward, Joel Friesen scored 12 points. Guard, Shane Gibson scored 11 points. Forward, Billy White scored 10 points.
Guard, Akeem Scott led the Lightning with 24 points and had 9 assists. Forward, Stephen Maxwell scored 21 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Forward, Ryan Anderson scored 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
Hurricanes will play Game 7 in Halifax on Monday evening at the Scotiabank Centre at 7pm. The series is now ties at 3-3 and one team could win the league championship with one more victory.
