
Hurricanes Fall to London Lightning in Game 5 of NBL Canada Finals

Halifax, (NS) - Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club were in action Friday June 10th at the Budweiser Gardens for Game 5 of NBL Canada Finals against the London Lightning. Lightning defeated the Hurricanes 81-92.
Lightning outscored the Hurricanes after the first quarter 15-20, and in the second quarter the Lightning extended the lead and outscored the Hurricanes 19-28 - at Halftime the Lightning led 34-48. In the third quarter the Hurricanes outscored the Lightning 23-20, and in the final quarter the Hurricanes and Lightning tied at 24-24; the Lightning earned the 81-92 victory.
Guard, Justin Johnson led the Hurricanes with 20 points. Guard, Shane Gibson scored 18 points. Forward, Mike Glover scored 9 points. Forward, Joel Friesen scored 8 and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Guard, Akeem Scott led the Lightning with 19 points and had 9 assists. Forward, Garrett Williamson scored 17 points. Forward, Warren Ward scored 16 points. Forward, Ryan Anderson scored 14 points. Guard, Nick Okorie scored 11 points.
Hurricanes will play Game 6 in Halifax on Sunday at the Scotiabank Centre at 2pm. Hurricanes lead the series 3-2 and could win the league championship with one more victory. Tickets will be on sale tomorrow, June 11th, at the Ticket Atlantic Box Office at 11am.
