(LONDON, Ontario) - Friday night, for the last time this season in front of 7,583 fans at Budweiser Gardens, the London Lightning beat the Halifax Hurricanes 92-81 in Game 5 of the NBLC Finals.

London still trails in the best-of-seven series 3-2.

The Lightning pulled away in the second quarter and lead 48-34 at halftime. Refusing to look back, the Lightning led by as many as 17 in the fourth quarter, sealing the win.

"Tonight was a complete team effort, they executed the game plan better in the previous two games, especially on the defensive end. We feel good about that," said coach Kyle Julius. "We worked harder. Everybody was criticizing us for being small, and I think we just worked harder. We had more fight."

"I wanted to thank the fans, I love these fans, I love being here, it's a blessing."

Game 6 will be played at Scotiabank Centre in Halifax on Sunday, June 12.
