Hurricanes Fall to Lightning in Game 1 of NBL Canada Finals at Scotiabank Centre

Halifax, (NS) - Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club were in action Thursday June 2nd at the Scotiabank Centre, facing the London Lightning in Game 1 of NBL Canada Finals. Lightning were stronger than the Hurricanes tonight, defeating them 105-115.

Both teams were tied after the first quarter 23-23, and in the second quarter the Lightning outscored the Hurricanes 25-21. In the third quarter the Lightning outscored the Hurricanes 32-29, and in the fourth quarter London outscored Halifax 35-32; enough to earn a ten point victory 105-115.

Guard. Shane Gibson led the Hurricanes with 18 points. Guard, Cliff Clinkscales scored 16 points. Forward, Mike Glover scored 16 points. Guard, Justin Johnson scored 15 points. Center, Kyle Hunt scored 14 points.

Forward, Akeem Wright led all scorers with 25 points. Forward, Stephen Maxwell scored 16 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Guard, Akeem Scott scored 14 points. Forward, Ryan Anderson scored 13 points. Forward, Marcus Capers scored 12 points. Guard, Nick Okorie scored 11 points.

The Hurricanes and Lightning will face each other Friday June 3rd at 7, at the Scotiabank Centre for Game 2.
