Lightning Win Game 1 over Hurricanes in NBLC Finals Series

(HALIFAX, Nova Scotia) - Thursday night at the Scotiabank Centre, the London Lightning beat the Halifax Hurricanes 115-105 in Game 1 of the NBLC Finals.

London leads the best-of-seven series 1-0.

Akeem Wright had a game high 25 points plus five rebounds while Stephen Maxwell added 16 points and nine rebounds. Akeem Scott would contribute 14 points while Ed Horton led the team with six assists.

Neither team seemed to be able to break away from the other in the first half, though London led 48-44 at the break. The Lightning extended their lead in the third quarter, and didn't let Halifax back in it in the final frame.

Game 2 will be played at Scotiabank Centre Friday, June 3. Games 3, 4, and 5 will be played at Budweiser Gardens on June 6, 8, and 10 respectively. Tickets can be purchased online or through the Budweiser Gardens box office.
