The Hurricanes showed the Island Storm why they were the best team in the league during the regular season with an explosive 41-point third quarter that led to a 107-85 victory for the Halifax squad.

The Hurricanes had trouble hitting shots early on but guided by newly named National Basketball League of Canada Coach of the Year Mike Leslie, caught fire in the third to build a 20-plus point lead that they held until the final buzzer.

The Hurricanes had seven players score in double-digits, led by Antoine Mason with a game-high 26 points and six rebounds.

Billy White bounced back after a quiet Game 1 to score 18 points and pull down eight rebounds.

Ta'Quan Zimmerman, who was named the NBLC Sixth Man of the Year on Friday scored 10 points off the bench, including three made three-pointers.

Former Sixth Man of the Year Mike Poole played a high-intensity game on the defensive end and also scored 16 points.

Tyrone Watson entertained the crowd with a couple high-flying dunks on his way to 15 points and nine rebounds.

Cliff Clinkscales was the steady hand leading the offence with 11 points and 11 assists.

The tied-up Atlantic Division Semifinals now heads to Charlottetown for the next two games. Game 3 is on Thursday, April 12 at 7 p.m. and Game 4 is on Saturday, April 14. Both games will be live-streamed on HalifaxHurricanes.ca.
