
Hurricanes Defeat Storm at Scotiabank Centre

Halifax, (NS) - Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club defeated the Island Storm 90-88 in NBL Canada action February 5th at the Scotiabank Centre. The Halifax Hurricanes now have a record of 10-4, leading the Atlantic Division.
Hurricanes led the Storm at the end of the first quarter 27-21. In the second quarter the Hurricanes led by double digits, leading 52-38 at halftime. In the third quarter the Hurricanes outscored the Storm 25-22. The Storm outscored the Hurricanes 13-28 in the final quarter but the Hurricanes prevailed; The final score of the game was 90-88.
Guard, Justin Johnson each scored 18 points for the Hurricanes. Guard, Shane Gibson ended with 15 points. Forward, Anthony Criswell scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Forward, Billy White scored 12 points. Center, Kyle Hunt scored 11 points. Forward, Mike Glover scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Center, Nick Evans led the Storm with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Terry Thomas scored 17 points coming off the bench. Guard, Rashad Wack scored 14 points. Guard, Malcolm Grant scored 12 points. Forward, Brent Jennings scored 12 points in the loss.
The Hurricanes continue the home stretch next weekend, February 13th against the Island Storm at the Scotiabank Centre.
