Halifax, (NS) - Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club defeated the Moncton Miracles 117-107 in NBLC action January 17th, at the Moncton Coliseum. After suffering two losses in a row, the Hurricanes are back in the win column, with this win the Hurricanes are 7-3.

Hurricanes led the Miracles at the end of the first quarter 31-25. In the second quarter the Hurricanes gained an 11 point lead, and lead 61-50 at halftime. In the third quarter the Hurricanes outscored the Miracles 25-19. The Miracles outscored the Hurricanes 38-31 in the final quarter but the Hurricanes prevailed; The final score of the game was 117-107.

Guard, Justin Johnson led the Hurricanes with 28 points and 8 assists. Forward, Mike Glover scored 23 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Guard, Shane Gibson scored 18 points. Forward, Kyle Hunt ended with 13 points. Forward, Anthony Criswell scored 12 points. Forward, Billy White added 11 points.

James Justice led all scorers with 29 points for the Miracles. Anthony Gurley scored 15 points. Guards, Tydran Beaty and Tyler Murray added 11 points each in the loss.

The Hurricanes will face the Island Storm on Monday January 22nd at the Eastlink Centre. The Hurricanes will return home against the Saint John Mill Rats on January 28th.
