Saint John Riptide News Release
(Saint John, NB): The Niagara River Lions make their first ever visit to Harbour Station today to take on the Saint John Mill Rats. Game time is set for 4PM AST.
The River Lions, a new expansion team out of St. Catharines, Ontario, defeated the Island Storm 107-85 last night in Charlottetown.
They are led by 6'9 forward Logan Stutz and 6'1 point guard Sammy Zeglinksi. Stutz leads the NBL Canada in scoring and rebounding at 26.6 points and 12.9 boards per game. Zeglinski played for the Island Storm last season, and he averages 17.8 points and 9.0 assists per game.
The Mill Rats meanwhile are on a 2-game winning streak and are led by Doug Herring at 22.3 points per game, Gabe Freeman with 18.5, Corey Allmond 17.9, Anthony Anderson 15.6, and Ricky Volcy 15.1.
The River Lions will only return to Harbour Station again this year if both teams face each other in the NBL Finals.
"We are looking for our fans to really come out on this Sunday and support our team as we look to win our 3rd game in a row, and just keep building it from here," said Mill Rats Head Coach Rob Spon. "Forget the record 3-5, this team beat PEI last night and so we have to play hard against every team in this league, every night."
Single game, flex, and prorated season tickets are on sale at the Harbour Station Box Office or by calling 506-657-1234 or by visiting www.harbourstation.ca
