
Hurricanes Blowout Magic to Take 2-0 Series Lead

Shutting down one dominant scorer is usually a tough assignment for any team, but Moncton had to contend with three dominant Hurricanes on Saturday. Antoine Mason, Tyrone Watson and Billy White all scored at least 20 points to fuel the Hurricanes dominant win 121-97 win over the Moncton Magic.
The Hurricanes opened the game with a blistering 40-point quarter and never looked back. As a team, they shot almost 55 per cent from the field and 43 per cent from three. They dominated the glass, outrebounding the Magic 52-35 and were plus-nine over Moncton in assists.
Antoine Mason led the Hurricanes in scoring with a game-high 25 points, most of them coming in the first half. He shot 81 per cent from the field.
Tyrone Watson turned in a solid stat line with 22 points, eight rebounds and six rebounds. Billy White's was just as impressive with 21 points, seven board, six dimes and two steals.
Mike Poole played gritty defence off the bench with three steals and his hot shooting gave the Hurricanes 19 points.
Rhamel Brown played another impressive game as the Hurricanes anchor under the basket. He scored 10 points while grabbing eight points, dishing out five assists and rejecting three shots.
The Hurricanes' exceptional defence limited Moncton's potent offence. No Magic player scored more than 14 points and Moncton only shot 32 per cent from three.
