Colorado Crush News Release
DENVER - The Arena Football League announced today that Colorado Crush defensive back Delvin Hughley was named the League's ADT Defensive Player of the Week for the Wild Card Round of the 2007 AFL Playoffs. This is the first time in Hughley's five-year career that he has received an AFL weekly honor.
HUGHLEY (5-11, 215, Jacksonville State) registered nine tackles, one fumble recovery and one interception as the Crush defeated the Kansas City Brigade, 49-42, on Saturday. Hughley intercepted Brigade QB Raymond Philyaw on the fifth play of Kansas City's first possession, setting up a Crush touchdown to take an early 13-0 lead. Hughley's fumble recovery in the fourth quarter stopped the Brigade's second drive of the quarter, keeping Colorado's lead to seven points.
The sixth seeded Colorado Crush head out for their second straight road playoff game when they travel to San Jose to face the top seeded SaberCats on Saturday, July 7th at 1:00 p.m. MT on Russell Athletic ESPN Arena Football. This marks the third consecutive year in which the Crush have played in the Divisional Round of the AFL playoffs.
