Silver Knights Stay Alive in Playoff Hunt with HUGE Win Over Baltimore
With the team's season literally on the line on Sunday afternoon, the Syracuse Silver Knights produced their finest performance of the season. Syracuse defeated the Baltimore Blast 7-2, handing Baltimore only its second home loss this year.
It seemed that every Silver Knight rose to meet the challenge. Midfielder Kenardo Forbes contributed two goals and two assists.
Goalkeeper Bryan O'Quinn stymied the Baltimore attack almost all afternoon, making huge saves in the third quarter to take some of the fight out of the Blast.
Silver Knight defenders hounded the Blast, closing down shooting opportunities, blocking shots and anticipating passes to make interceptions and start the Knights counter-attacks.
In possibly the goal of the season for the Silver Knights, forward Moises Gonzalez scored via a bicycle kick.
As great as all that news is, the Silver Knights must come back to Dave and Buster's Field this Friday and defeat the Blast again. It will be a special occasion, as the club honors our many local heroes in police and fire departments in our community.
