Huge Weekend for Ice Wolves Alumni

Several New Mexico Ice Wolves alumni were making waves across NCAA college hockey over the weekend. Will Howard (20-23) scored his first college goal against Arizona State University on Friday night to help lead Augustana to the school's first win ever over a nationally ranked team. Alex Gomez (19-22) found the back of the net to open the scoring in what would prove to be the game winner as University of Alaska-Anchorage a shut out Providence on Saturday. Nicolas Haviar (20-23) scored his first goal for Utica and would then add two more in the same game for his first college hat trick as part of a four point weekend as his team swept Lebanon Valley in NCAA Division III action.
In a milestone game for Ice Wolves alumni, the Division I game between UMass-Lowell and University of Maine featured six Ice Wolves in the lineup! Dillan Bentley (20-220 and Mitch Becker (19-22) for UMass-Lowell and Cole Hanson (19-21), Sully Scholle (21-23), Brandon Holt (19-22), and Jack Dalton (21-24) for Maine. Friday night Maine won 5-3 with Brandon Holt getting two assists and Cole Hanson getting an assist of his own. On Saturday Maine would win 7-2 as Jack Dalton made his college hockey debut after departing New Mexico just a week and a half earlier and Brandon Holt scored a goal and an assist during the game. Sully Scholle would score the seventh goal of the game for Maine, and it would be his fifth goal of his first season of NCAA hockey.
