Houston Takers Vs. South Texas Showboats In Charity Exhibition

Houston, TX. The ABA South Texas Showboats will meet the Houston Takers on Saturday, November 15th in a pre-season game between the two teams. "This will be the ABA's version of the I-10 showdown between two teams that have high hopes of competing for the ABA Championship," stated Larry Leonard II, owner of the Takers. "Initially we scheduled this game between the Streetball Legends, but because of the impact of Hurricane Ike, a lot of hotels in the area are booked with FEMA stepping in and giving families assistance in their time of need. We're doing what we can also to help out. So, Ben Mireles, the owner/coach of the Showboats agreed to step up and help us out by accepting this challenge. We're looking forward to having a terrific game."

The South Texas Showboats are already 3-0 in the pre-season and hope to improve to 4-0 after leaving Houston. The Takers will be playing with seven returning players.

There will be a group of exciting events designed to assist the community in rebuilding. Pre-season tickets for the game are $20; 20% will be donate to Hurricane Ike relief fund and also fans will receive trips for 2 to Florida for four days.
