The Houston Roughnecks play their regular season home finale in a non- divisional game versus the Vegas Vipers in Week 9. This is the first all- time meeting between the two teams. Both Wade Phillips and Rod Woodson are first-year XFL head coaches. Houston (5-0 in the XFL South) has clinched a spot in the South Division Championship game, while Vegas (0-4 in the XFL North) has been eliminated from postseason play. Houston will serve as host for the South Division Championship game with either a Week 9 win against Vegas, or a Week 9 Arlington loss against D.C.

DISSECTING THE LINES

So far this year, Houston is 4-4 (.500) against the spread. They covered against Orlando (HOU -3.5) in Week 1, Arlington (HOU -4.5) in Week 2, San Antonio (HOU -4) in Week 3, and at Orlando (HOU -9) in Week 4. In the eight games that Houston has played this season, the over has hit in three games, while the under has hit in five games. The Houston Roughnecks are 6.5-point favorites at home against the Vegas Vipers on Saturday afternoon. The over/under line is set at 43 total points scored.
