SERIES NOTES: This is the only regualr season matchup between D.C. and Arlington.
TA'AMU: HITTING HIS STRIDE
¬Â¢ QB Jordan Ta'amu has now thrown for at least 240 yards and 2 touchdowns in his last three outings. Ta'amu has also thrown for at least 170 yards in 5 of his last 6 outings.
¬Â¢ Through 8 weeks, he is also averaging 190 passing yards per game - the 2nd highest average of any quarterback with 8 games played.
¬Â¢ Ta'amu's 777 passing yards over the last three weeks are good for 2nd most in that span by any quarterback in the XFL. His 7 touchdowns over the last three weeks is the most of any quarterback during that span.
TAKING CARE OF THE BALL
¬Â¢ Ta'amu has thrown only 1 interception this season and it came in Week 1. His 7 straight weeks without an interception thrown is the longest streak in the XFL.
¬Â¢ Ta'amu's 1 interception on the season is tied for the least amount interceptions thrown by any quarterback in the XFL with over 100 passing attempts.
RISING THE RANKS
After Week 8, Jordan Ta'amu now ranks 4th in the league in passing yards (1,435), passing touchdowns (10), completions (114) and attempts (187).
EMERGING DOWN THE STRETCH
Over the last two games, WR Chris Blair has registered 287 receiving yards, 10 receptions and 14 targets. In Blair's first six games, he registered 205 receiving yards, 13 receptions and 21 targets.
¬Â¢ Over Blair's last two games, he is averaging 28.7 yards per catch - He averaged just 13.7 yards per catch over his first 6.
¬Â¢ On the season, Blair has 3 touchdowns - he has caught 2 of them in the last two weeks.
¬Â¢ Blair's 287 receiving yards over the last two weeks ranks higher than 74 players' season totals.
¬Â¢ Blair has caught 17 passes that have resulted in 1st downs - 8 of them have come in the last two weeks.

ADDING TO THE RECORD BOOKS
¬Â¢ In Week 8, Blair set a new league high for receiving yards (148) in a single game. Blair's performance marked the 2nd week in a row in which he surpassed 100 yards receiving - making him the only player in the XFL to do so this season.
¬Â¢ Week 8 saw Blair earn his 2nd longest reception of the season, with his 70 yard catch in the 4th quarter. Blair's reception in Week 8 ranks as the 4th longest in the XFL this season - Blair still holds the record for longest reception of the season for his 86-yard catch vs. Orlando in Week 7.
¬Â¢ After two consecutive weeks of leading the league in receiving yards, Blair has now moved into the league's top 3 with 492 yards on the season.
Blair is the only player in the XFL to have gained over 400 receiving yards with less than 25 receptions.
RUSHING CUSHION
Week 8 marks the first week of the season in which the Defenders did not earn at least 100 rushing yards as a team. The team's 87 rushing yards vs. Seattle pushed the Defenders' season total to 1,268 - 1st in the league by 497 yards. In addition to rushing yards, the Defenders still rank 1st in the league in attempts (283), yards per carry (4.5), touchdowns (14), rushes of 10+ (35), rushes of 20+ (8), longest rush (70) and first downs (72).
RUNNING IT BACK
In Week 8, in just his 2nd game at the position, Brandon Smith led the league in kick return yards (114). Smith's 114 yards are the most by and Defender this season in any week. His 37-yard kick return in the 2nd quarter is the longest by any Defender this season.
Smith is 1 of only 2 players in the top 10 of kick return yards to play in less than 7 games this season.
