HOUSTON - Houston Roughnecks fans now have a convenient and free option when traveling to and from TDECU Stadium on game days, courtesy of Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO).
By simply showing their game ticket on game day, fans can ride METRORail to TDECU Stadium free of charge. This offer will be valid for every Roughnecks home game for the remainder of the season.
"The Roughnecks are proud to partner with METRO to provide fans additional game day transportation options," said Roughnecks president Brian Michael Cooper. "We look forward to future initiatives with METRO as we continue to find innovative ways to enhance fan game-day experience."
In addition, the Roughnecks have partnered with METRO to wrap a METRORail vehicle on the Red Line (North) for the 2020 XFL season. The 12.8-mile Red Line travels from NRG Park to the Texas Medical Center, Museum District, Downtown, and Northline with 25 stations. Roughnecks flyers, bus cards, and posters are all part of the 2020 campaign.
METRORail consists of three light-rail lines: the Red Line (North), Green Line (East End) and the Purple Line (Southeast), totaling 23 miles of rail, with 18.3 million rides in 2019. Its fleet consists of 76 light-rail vehicles.
The Purple Line (Southeast) is a 6.6-mile section with 10 stations that travels from Downtown along Capitol and Rusk to popular destinations such as Texas Southern University and the University of Houston. Fans who take the Purple Line to the game will exit METRORail at the TDECU Stadium stop just outside at Gate 3 of TDECU Stadium.
The Roughnecks play a 10-game regular-season schedule that features five home games at TDECU Stadium. In addition to the team's historic home wins against Los Angeles and St. Louis, the Roughnecks have remaining home games against Seattle (Saturday, March 7, 1 p.m.) and D.C. (Sunday, March 22, 5 p.m.). The Roughnecks' final home game for the 2020 regular season is a nationally televised primetime showdown against Dallas on Thursday, April 2 at 7 p.m.
Three-game Packages and single-game tickets are available for purchase online at www.xflroughnecks.com, www.ticketmaster.com, or by calling 713-589-8687.
