
Houston Rockets Re-Assign Motiejunas To Rio Grande Valley Vipers

NEW YORK, Jan. 22, 2013 - The Houston Rockets today re-assigned Donatas Motiejunas to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Rockets' NBA Development League affiliate. The assignment is the 113th of the 2012-13 NBA and NBA D-League seasons, while Motiejunas is among a record 50 NBA players to be assigned to the NBA D-League this season.
Motiejunas (7-0, 222, Kaunas, Lithuania) returns to the Vipers, having averaged 23.5 points and 10.8 rebounds in four starts this season. Originally selected in the first round (20th overall) of the 2011 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves and later traded to Houston, Motiejunas has appeared in 14 games for the Rockets this season and averaged 1.6 points and 0.3 rebounds.
Motiejunas is expected to join the Vipers today and be available on Wednesday, Jan. 23 when the team hosts the Texas Legends at 8:00 p.m. ET.
