
Brooklyn Re-Assigns Shengelia And Taylor To Springfield Armor

NEW YORK, Jan. 22, 2013 - The Brooklyn Nets today re-assigned Tornike Shengelia and Tyshawn Taylor to the Springfield Armor, the Nets' NBA Development League affiliate. The assignments are the record 111th and 112th of the 2012-13 NBA and NBA D-League seasons, while Shengelia and Taylor are two of the record 50 NBA players to be assigned to the NBA D-League this season.
Shengelia (6-8, 207, Republic of Georgia) rejoins the Armor having played in 13 games for the Nets this season, averaging 1.4 points and 4.2 minutes. In his previous assignment, he played in one game for Springfield, scoring 22 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in 42 minutes. Originally selected 54th overall in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers, he was and then traded to the Brooklyn Nets.
Taylor (6-3, 185, Kansas) has appeared in 21 games for the Nets this season, averaging 1.6 points and 4.3 minutes. During his previous assignment to Springfield, he played in one game and scored 32 points in 38 minutes. He was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers with the 41st pick in the 2012 NBA Draft before being traded to Brooklyn.
Both players will be in uniform when the Armor take on the Maine Red Claws on Thursday, Jan. 24 in Springfield.
