Houston Dynamo FC Sign Obafemi Awodesu and Diego Gonzalez to Short Term Loans

HOUSTON - Houston Dynamo FC signed defender Obafemi Awodesu and midfielder Diego Gonzalez to a short-term loan from Dynamo 2. Both players will be available for selection later today as the Dynamo open the 2024 campaign against St. Louis CITY SC in their Round One series of the Concacaf Champions Cup.

Awodesu recently signed for Dynamo 2 for the 2024 season with a club option for the following campaign. The defender recently completed a four-year career at Penn State where he won multiple individual and team accolades, including two regular season titles.

Gonzalez re-signed with Dynamo 2 earlier this year to extend his contract through 2025. The midfielder scored 13 goals and tallied six assists for Dynamo 2 last season as the squad earned their second consecutive postseason appearance.
