CHICAGO (June 19, 2015) - Bianca Henninger and the Houston Dash welcome Samantha Mewis and the Western New York Flash to town Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. ET at BBVA Compass Stadium, looking to extend their franchise-record four game unbeaten run.
Henninger made five saves to help earn the Dash a scoreless draw with Portland Thons FC on June 6 in their final match before the NWSL's 12-day layoff during the group stage of the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup.
The result was Houston's fourth game without loss to break the club's previous mark set twice last season. The point was the fifth in the last three games for the Dash, who are tied for the second most in the league during that stretch.
The clean sheet was the third of the season for Henninger and moved her into a tie with FC Kansas City goalkeeper Nicole Barnhart for the league lead.
After allowing a 1.83 goals against average in their inaugural season, the Dash have markedly improved at the back during their sophomore campaign with defenders Nikki Cross and Ella Masar playing heavy minutes to help Houston to a 1.13 GAA this year.
Western New York comes into the game as one of four teams still in search of their first win away from home this season.
The Flash are 0-2-1 away from Sahlen's Stadium and have scored the fewest goals on the road in the league during 2015.
Mewis and company also enter the match riding a two-game win streak and on a three-match unbeaten run after they became the first team to beat the league-leading Chicago Red Stars this season in a 3-1 victory at home on June 6.
All three goals came in the second half for Aaran Lines' side - with Mewis getting the scoring started in the 51st minute before midfielder Elizabeth Eddy and forward Jamia Fields each added a goal of their own to help the Flash to the victory.
Goalkeeper Chantel Jones returned from her one-game suspension to make five saves in the win for Western New York.
The Flash will stay out on the road for their match June 28 against the Boston Breakers before returning home to face Seattle Reign FC on July 3.
The Dash will travel to face the Washington Spirit on June 27 before enjoying a 14-day break ahead of their home game against the Chicago Red Stars on July 12.
