
Houston Dash Forward Kayla McCoy to Miss 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup Due to Knee Injury

HOUSTON - - Houston Dash forward Kayla McCoy will miss the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup due to a knee injury, the team announced today. The forward suffered the injury during a friendly game with Jamaica against Scotland last week in preparation for the tournament.
The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) announced that McCoy will remain with Jamaica during the World Cup and go through rehabilitation with their medical team. She will be replaced on Jamaica's roster by Mireya Grey. Additional information regarding her availability for the Dash will be provided in the coming days.
McCoy made her NWSL debut on May 19 against the Chicago Red Stars at BBVA Compass Stadium. A second-round pick in the 2019 NWSL Draft, McCoy debuted in the Starting XI and played 54 minutes.
The Dash will host the Orlando Pride for the second time this season at 7:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, June 15 at BBVA Compass Stadium. Tickets for the match start at $15 and are available at HoustonDashSoccer.com.
