Chicago Hounds News Release

CHICAGO, I.L. - The Hounds announced today that former-player Will Magie will be joining the club's front office ahead of the 2024 Major League Rugby season.

Magie will work in conjunction with CEO and General Manager James English as the Hounds' Head of Player Operations.

"Will brings a huge amount of experience and expertise, having navigated the professional rugby landscape in America from Day One," English said.

Magie, 31, makes the transition to a Major League Rugby front office after playing with the Austin Gilgronis from 2020 through 2022. Prior to that, he spent time with the Glendale Raptors, helping them to a MLR Championship Series final appearance in the inaugural season of the competition.

As the new Head of Player Operations, Magie will work in close tandem with the Hounds' contracted athletes to ensure they are getting a premier off-field experience the likes of which Major League Rugby has never seen. This includes helping younger players as they continue to transition into professional sport in addition to working with the veteran players on a plan for life after rugby.

"He has been there and done it, and thus will be a huge asset to the Hounds and our athletes moving forward," English continued.
