Auburn Doubledays News Release
Auburn, NY - The Auburn Doubledays of the New York-Penn League, Single-A Short Season affiliate of the Washington Nationals, are seeking Host Families for the upcoming 2016 season.
Anyone in the greater Auburn community can help provide a home away from home for a Doubledays player this season. Host families are asked to provide players with their own bedroom along with a comfortable environment for them to live in along with access to laundry and a kitchen.
Players will be in need of housing from mid-June through early-September. Host families may house more than one player in their homes and are not required to provide meals or transportation for the players.
Host families will be invited to an end of the season reception and will be recognized on the field prior to a game. Many host families have stayed in touch with "their" players for years after they leave Auburn as the players continued on their journey to Major League Baseball.
Anyone interested in being a host family may contact Doubledays Operations Manager Andrew Sagarin by calling 315-255-2489 or emailing andrew.sagarin@auburndoubledays.com.
The Doubledays will open the 2016 season on Friday, June 17 at home against the Batavia Muckdogs at 7:05 p.m. Season ticket plans as well as flex plans are on sale now. For more information about the Doubledays call (315) 255-2489 or visit auburndoubledays.com.
