
Hope's Streak Continues: Wild Topped by Rage, 2-1

DAWSON CREEK, British Columbia - The Dawson Creek Rage dealtthe Wenatchee Wild a 2-1 loss Friday night at the Encana Events Center inDawson Creek, British Columbia. The loss snapped the Wild's 5-game winningstreak.
After a scoreless first period, Tyler Hope (McKinney, Texas) gave the Wild the lead seven minutesinto the second frame. Hope quickly transitioned into the offensive zone downthe left wing after gathering the puck in the Wild zone. Hope looked off a passand scored top shelf on a blistering shot from just above the faceoff dot. Thegoal, which was unassisted, extended Hope's point streak to nine games.
The Rage scored an important goal to tie the contest, 1-1,with four seconds remaining in the second period when Tyson McCallum scoredfrom point-blank range off a faceoff in the Wild zone. Troy Petrick and BrettZarazun assisted.
Dylan Smith scored the game-winning goal for the Rage duringa power play on a shot from the point with less than seven minutes remaining inregulation. Bobby Turnbull and Scott Fellnermayr assisted.
Wild netminder NickKulmanovsky (Fairbanks, Alaska) made 26 saves on 28 shots. Andrew Walsh turnedaside 29 of the Wild's 30 shots. The Rage went 1-for-7 on power-play chanceswhile the Wild went 0-for-2.
The Wild (20-12-2) will try to split its series against theRage on Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. (PST) start.
