Cleveland Force News Release
The Force has enjoyed playing at home this season and their record proves it. With a mark of 6-1 at Convocation Center at Cleveland State University, Cleveland enjoys the second best home record in the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) this season. The Force is 4-0 versus Eastern Conference opponents and 2-1 versus Western Conference opponents this season at home.
The Philadelphia KiXX currently have the best home record and are the only team still undefeated at home with an 11-0 record at the First Union Spectrum. The Milwaukee Wave are 8-2 at home this season with one of the losses coming at the hands of Cleveland in the two teams last meeting on December 14th.
The Kansas City Comets have the worst home record with a mark of 2-6.
SCORING MACHINE:
Forward Giuliano Oliviero has turned up his scoring output in just his second season in a Cleveland uniform. Oliviero has scored at least a point in the last five straight games as well as 12 of the last 13.
In the last five games, Giuliano has notched six two-point goals and two assists for a total of 14 points.
Oliviero has tallied at least a point in 15 of the 19 games this season. In the 15 games that he has scored a point, Giuliano has recorded a goal in 11 while only having just four games that he posted just an assist.
Oliviero currently is second on the team and is tied for 11th in the MISI with 45 points.
STREAK KEEPS GOING:
Cleveland forward Hector Marinaro extended his scoring streak to 57 straight games and 86 of the last 87 games. He has also tallied a point in 195 of the last 198 games.
Marinaro extended his streak by posting an assist on Friday night vs. Harrisburg and then had a two-point goal and an assist at Kansas City.
ANOTHER MILESTONE FALLS:
Cleveland midfielder Giuliano Oliviero went over the 700 career points total on Friday night with a two-point goal. Giuliano now has 704 career points after the weekend. Oliviero entered the season with 659 career points and has scored 40 points thus far this season.
With reaching 700 career points, Oliviero has achieved his second milestone of the season for the forward. On November 22nd, Giuliano tallied his 200th career assist on his first of season-high three assists.
It will also mark the fourth milestone for Force players on the season. On October 18th, Force goalkeeper Jim Larkin saved his 1,000th career save on his 10th save of the game for the first milestone and then on December 15th forward Hector Marinaro added to his long list of records when he was the first player to score 1,200th career goal.
POST-GAME HEADQUARTERS:
The Cleveland Hilton Garden Inn is the official post game party headquarters of the Cleveland Force. After every home game, Force players will be in attendance to talk with fans as well as sign autographs. The Hilton Garden Inn is located at 1100 Carnegie Avenue between the Convocation Center at CSU and Jacobs Field. The Force players will arrive 30-45 minutes after the conclusion of the game.
