LAREDO, TX- The undefeated Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League will play their home opener Friday night against Division Foe Corpus Christi at the LEC. Game time is scheduled for 7:30pm. The Bucks will look to continue their hot start and improve to 4-0 for only the second time in team history. The Bucks started 5-0 during the 2003-04 season.

The Bucks will host their sixth home opener in team history Friday night when they take on the Rayz. Laredo is coming off of a very successful 3-0 road trip to New Mexico and Amarillo to open the campaign. The Bucks are led in scoring by reigning CHL player of the week James Hiebert (5 goals, 2 assists, 7points), and Jeff Bes (1 goal, 6 assists, 7points). Hiebert had the game-winning goal last Friday in New Mexico in the Bucks 8-2 win, while Bes knocked in the game-winner in overtime Saturday to beat the Scorpions.

Rookie forward Brent MacSween leads the league in power-play goals with three, while also handing out three assists totaling six points.

Laredo will start Dustin Traylen in net Friday night. Traylen is 2-0-0 for the Bucks, with a 2.93 goals against average, and a .893 save percentage.

The Rayz come into Friday's game at having split with Rio Grande Valley, losing on the road last Friday night 3-2, before winning in a shootout at home on Saturday evening 4-3. Corpus Christi is led in scoring by center Justin Quenneville (1 goal, 2 assists, 3 points), and right winger Joe Blaznek (1 goal, 2 assists, 3 points). The Rayz are 0-for-eight this season on the power-play, but have killed off all seven of their opponents penalties.

Friday night's home opener will include a special pre-game ceremony to introduce the 2007-08 Bucks team, a video highlight tribute, and a pyro show. Also the first 2,000 fans will receive magnetic schedules.

On Saturday the Bucks will host Amarillo at 7:30pm for the Bucks first event night of the season. Tickets are available through all the local Laredo Rotary Clubs, and ticket sales will go to benefit the clubs. Every fan who buys a ticket for Saturday's game is automatically entered in a rotary jersey raffle for a chance to win one of 20 game worn Bucks rotary jerseys.

Saturday night will also mark the first surprise special entertainer for the season to perform during both intermissions. The performer is world famous, and is only in Laredo for Saturday nights game.

*The Bucks are 4-1 all-time in home openers, with their only loss coming last year to Rio Grande Valley, 4-2.
