Cleveland Force News Release
The Force signed Brecksville native and Walsh Jesuit High School graduate Mark Schulte to a 15-day or five game contract last Thursday.
While at Walsh Jesuit H.S., Mark was a four-year starter and letter winner. Schulte tallied five goals and added 10 assists for a total of 20 points in his four-year career from his defender position. Schulte was named to the Greater Akron All-District team, All-State team, and the Cleveland Plain Dealer Seven County All-Star Team as only 11 players are selected to this team.
In his first two games of indoor soccer this past weekend, Schulte recorded two blocks.
MILESTONE MANIA:
Cleveland forward Lee Edgerton became the fourth Force player to achieve a milestone this season when he went over the 200th career point total on his third goal on Friday night versus the Philadelphia KiXX.
Edgerton now stands at 207 career-points after a 12-point outburst this past weekend. Lee recorded season-high eight points as he scored season-high four goals on Friday night and then followed that performance up with a two-goal display on Saturday night.
Edgerton joins Jim Larkin (1,000th career save), Hector Marinaro (1,200th career goal) and Giuliano Oliviero (200th career assist and 700th career point) as the Force players to achieve milestones this season.
WESTWARD BOUND:
The Cleveland Force will play its 12th and 13th of 18 games versus Western Conference opponents this season during the upcoming weekend. Cleveland is 2-2 at home versus Western Conference foes. The Force has posted a 4-3 record on the road.
Cleveland is 3-0 versus the San Diego Sockers and 1-2 versus the Kansas City Comets during the 2002-03 campaign.
FRIDAY NIGHT SPECIAL:
The Force will be playing their seventh Friday night game this week when the San Diego Sockers come to the Convocation Center at Cleveland State University. Cleveland is currently 6-0 this season on Friday nights including a 5-0 mark at home on Fridays.
The Force is 2-0 on Friday nights versus San Diego this season as the team posted both victories in October. Cleveland won the first game 10-8 on October 18th at home and then followed it up with a 15-4 victory on October 25th.
POST-GAME HEADQUARTERS:
The Cleveland Hilton Garden Inn is the official post game party headquarters of the Cleveland Force. After every home game, Force players will be in attendance to talk with fans as well as sign autographs. The Hilton Garden Inn is located at 1100 Carnegie Avenue between the Convocation Center at CSU and Jacobs Field. The Force players will arrive 30-45 minutes after the conclusion of the game.
