The Louisiana IceGators organization will be making an appearance today at the Johnston Street location of Toys "R" Us in support of "Hockey Appreciation Day".
Hockey Appreciation Day will run in support of the DVD release of the movie "Miracle", the story of the 1980 Gold Medal winning USA Olympic Hockey team.
Clawd, the IceGators mascot, Bruce LeVine, the Voice of the IceGators, and former IceGators great, Chris Valicevic, will all be appearing during the event, which runs from 10AM to 6PM.
In addition to the IceGators, there will be hockey demonstrations by the Louisiana Amateur Hockey Association and Top Shelf, the home of inline hockey in Acadiana. Geoffrey the Giraffe will also make appearances throughout the day. Fans will be able to win an autographed stick signed by the entire 2003-04 IceGator team and applications to join the new Gator Girls squad will be available.
