Hince, Knoxville blank Bloomington, 5-0

Bryan Hince recorded a shutout against the Bloomington Thunder as the Knoxville Ice Bears picked up a 5-0 win.

Knoxville was led by Eric Satim, who finished with one goal. Satim scored 10:08 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Knoxville. Francis Drolet provided the assist.

The Ice Bears racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 20.0 minutes per game Knoxville had been spending in the box. The Ice Bears put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Bloomington to score on any of its four power plays. Knoxville featured an improved defense during the game. The Ice Bears allow 2.8 goals per game. Knoxville's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Ice Bears average 2.8 goals per contest. Knoxville's defensemen were a huge part of the offense, scoring two goals and taking 13 shots. The Ice Bears' offense was clicking better than usual and put 32 shots on goal during the game, better than the 25.0 shots per game they average.

Knoxville also got points from Jason Price, who also grabbed one goal and two assists and Jon Higgins, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Knoxville included Brad Pawlowski and David Segal, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Knoxville were Brady Vandenberk, who had two and Mark Van Vliet and Ben Souders, who contributed one a piece.

The Thunder could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Bloomington puts an average of 2.4 pucks into the net per game. The Thunder put 30 shots on net during the contest, more than the 18.6 they average per game.

Bloomington was led by Nic Polaski, who took seven shots.

Knoxville's Hince stopped 30 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Ice Bears registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Breton Lindoff made 27 saves for the Thunder on 30 shots. Bloomington ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major.
