Sioux Falls Stampede News Release
Sioux Falls, SD-- Sioux Falls Sports LLC, the City of Sioux Falls and SMG jointly announced today that the Sioux Falls Stampede have signed a lease agreement that will make the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center home to Stampede hockey beginning in the 2014-2015 season. The contract is for five years with an option to extend for another five years beginning in 2019-2020. This agreement makes the Stampede the first main tenant of the new venue.
The Denny Sanford PREMIER Center is a state-of-the-art, multipurpose facility that will open in the fall of 2014 and just prior to the start of the 2014-2015 United States Hockey League (USHL) season. While the facility is much larger than the current Sioux Falls Arena, the Stampede's new venue also will bring fans closer than ever to all the exciting action. For the first time ever, fans will have the opportunity to sit on top of the action and enjoy ice-level views all the way around the NHL-regulation-size rink. Corporate partners will have the opportunity to advertise in front of the largest fan base in the league like never before with an
LED video display system that includes a center-hung scoreboard and a 360-degree ribbon display along the seating bowl, as well as several other new advertising options.
"We are thrilled to be moving into the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center," stated Stampede CEO/President Tom Garrity. "This is a very exciting day for our organization, but most importantly a big day for our fans and corporate sponsors. Fans will now be able to truly enjoy the speed and skill in the game of hockey by simply being able to sit closer to the action and also take advantage of some of our premium seating options. Our sponsors will now have several new exciting opportunities to be in front of our strong fan base that was simply not available before. We have already begun making preparations for next season and will have several more exciting announcements to share in the coming months."
"The Stampede team has proven to be a valuable asset to the Sioux Falls Arena, and we're happy to now have them as a key element at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. The SMG staff is very excited to continue our relationship with the team," says Terry Torkildson, General Manager of the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center, Sioux Falls Arena, Sioux Falls Convention Center, and Orpheum Theater.
Fans interested in seeing the Stampede in action in the new events center can get in line now by purchasing season tickets for the remainder of the 2013-14 season. The Herd have special ticket offers available now starting as low as $115 a seat for the remaining 20 home games this season. Season ticket holders will have priority seating at the new events center and will have the opportunity to purchase tickets before the general public.
