The Sioux Falls Stampede outshot Cedar Rapids 94 to 48 in two games last weekend, but were swept by the Rough Riders, falling by scores of 4-2 and 5-1. The Stampede are now 26-17-3 and just one point back of fifth place in the West Division.

On Friday, the Stampede got goals from Ryan Guentzel and newcomer Jake Hansen and posted 47 shots.

On Saturday, the Stampede again posted 47 shots, but Patterson was again the story, stopping 46 on the night. Jordy Christian provided the only goal for the Stampede who have lost three straight games for the first time since the beginning of the season.

The Stampede return home to the Sioux Falls Arena this Tuesday night to face the Lincoln Stars at 7:05 PM in a huge West Division battle. The Stampede currently trail Lincoln by six points for third place in the West.

"Tip a Stampede Night" at Granite City

this Wednesday-

This Wednesday, March 14th is the 8th annual "Tip a Stampede Night" at Granite City Food & Brewery from 5 PM to 8 PM. Stampede players will work with the Granite City wait staff taking orders and delivering food. The players will also be collecting tips which will benefit the "Stampede Foundation For Kids."

Prizes will be awarded to the event's top five tippers. Fans can also purchase raffle tickets for the chance to win an autographed Stampede team hockey stick or four (4) Stampede tickets to every home playoff game during the 2007 Clark Cup Playoffs.

The players will be split up into groups of two. The first group will work from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM and the other from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

Dan Sexton has 7 points (5g, 2a) and is a +4 in his last ten games.

Erik Peterson and Zach Hansen are both +5 in their last 10 games.

Stu Bickel is tied with Brandon Bollig (Lin) for the most penalty minutes in the league with 170.

ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM

Stampede futures pick Aaron Ness was named to the Class "AA" All-Tournament Team after his

Roseau Rams defeated Grand Rapids 5-1 in the Class AA championship game Saturday night in St. Paul. The 10th grade defenseman finished second on the team in scoring with 51 points (13g, 38a) in 31 games this season. The Rams finished the

season on a 13-game winning streak and 29-2-0 overall. Ness was a third round pick (35th overall) of the Stampede during the 2006 USHL Futures Draft.

STAMPEDE VISIT

ST. MARY'S ELEMENTARY

Stampede players Stu Bickel and Dan Sexton visited two Kindergarten classes at St. Mary's Elementary School in Sioux Falls last week. The players read to the class, answered questions from the kids, dressed a student up in hockey equipment and signed autographs.

CASEY PARENTEAU TO APPEAR ON

INSIDE STAMPEDE HOCKEY TODAY-

Former Stampede forward Casey Parenteau will appear on "Inside Stampede Hockey" today at 5 PM on AM-1230 KWSN. Parenteau is currently playing collegiate hockey at St. Lawrence University with another former Stampede player, Travis Vermeulen. St. Lawrence captured the ECAC regular season championship and will play Quinnipiac in the ECAC semi-finals this Friday. Fans outside the Sioux Empire can listen online at www.kwsn.com

Andreas Nödl recorded the game winning goal in triple overtime for St. Cloud State last night as the Huskies topped Minnesota-Duluth 3-2 to advance to the WCHA Final Five. It was the longest game in St. Cloud State history and the fifth longest in NCAA history.
