Charlotte Eagles News Release
Our good friend and loyal supporter, Winger, needs your help! You may have noticed that his wings are worn and his beak is dirty. His shoes are torn, and his feathers are ruffled. But his most serious problem is his, well his odor. Winger stinks! Though he continues to be the Charlotte Eagles most loyal supporter and a great fan favorite, Winger has become less than welcome in the stands at Charlotte Christian stadium. Winger needs a makeover!
One of our young fans, Ellen Goodling, is hoping to get Winger the help he needs. She presented her ideas for a Winger fundraiser to the Eagles staff and received their unanimous support for this undertaking. Why is she doing this? "Winger is really well loved," said Ellen. "He is really important to the Eagles because he's their biggest supporter, he makes the games more fun for kids, and he brings excitement to the stands, but right now it's hard for him to do his thing because nobody wants to get too close to him!" Ellen is hoping to raise about $1,200 to purchase new attire for Winger. But she needs your help!
Ellen and her family will have tables set up at our home games and will offer various thank-you gifts for your donations, including face painting, bracelets, coupons for concessions, and the chance to win an official Winger jersey, autographed by the entire 2010 Eagles squad.
So come out to our next home game Friday, May 14 at Charlotte Christian Stadium. The Lady Eagles' have their home opener at 5:30 versus the Hampton Roads Piranhas while the Men kick off at 8:00 against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. This is the first meeting of the year for the Eagles and Riverhounds.
