Green Bay Blizzard News Release

Another team has helped the family of former Green Bay Blizzard Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator Kerry Brown.

The Green Bay Blizzard is pleased to announce that a $4,000 donation has been received from the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Pioneers from a jersey auction the team hosted during the American Conference Championship game on August 17th.

The Pioneers ended the Blizzard season with a 46-43 victory in a hard fought, grinding battle, however the Blizzard organization hold no ill will against the team.

"This is a team we have had a lot of history with. Making a donation like this is a great thing and they should be commended," said Blizzard Head Coach Doug Lytle.

Kerry Brown passed away in a single vehicle accident on July 30th two days after the Blizzard final regular season game. A memorial fund was established by the team to help Kerry's three children that have been left without a father. The Green Bay Packers of the NFL, the Quad City Steamwheelers, the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Pioneers and many other AFL, af2, and NFL teams have given to the memorial fund.
