MILESTONE MENTION
As noted above, with an assist on Matt Knowles' 2pg at 2:24 of the fourth quarter on Sunday in Philly, Zoran Karic became the second man in indoor soccer history to score 1,700 career points. The 41-year old playmaker now has 1,701 career points. Karic's former teammate Hector Marinaro remains the league's all-time leading scorer with 2,244 points.
Knowles now finds himself on the verge of a significant milestone. The 31-year old defender needs only three points to become the 16th man in league history to hit 900 for his career. Knowles, who has 58 points this season, is the highest-scoring defender in the history of the sport. Kansas City's Wes Wade (currently with 980 points) and Philadelphia's Kevin Sloan (955) also reached the 900-point mark this season.
PROPS FOR PETRAS
Doug Petras has now saved at least 15 shots in 22 of his 33 appearances this season. Petras, who ranks second in the league with 495 saves this season, is the Heat's all-time saves leader with 3,140. Of the 14 goalkeepers who have appeared in net for Harrisburg, only one besides Petras has as many as 1,000 saves: Scoop Stanisic, who saved 1,177 shots for Harrisburg from 1994-97. Ranking behind Stanisic on the list is Joe Mallia with 649.
Only eleven keepers have cracked the 3,000-save mark in league history, and Petras ranks eighth on the league's all-time saves list with 3,477. The 29-year old needs only six saves to pass Stanisic on that list and move into seventh place all-time.
