Abbotsford Heat News Release

Abbotsford, BC - The Abbotsford Heat will aim to tie up their Western Conference Semifinals with the Toronto Marlies (Toronto Maple Leafs) at two games apiece tonight at the Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre. The Marlies have won the last two games and lead the best-of-seven series 2-1.

Leland Irving made his first appearance of the post-season in Saturday's 4-1 loss, stopping 22 shots on the night including numerous breakaways and odd-man rushes in his first action since the regular season finale on April 15th - where he beat the Marlies in an overtime game. Danny Taylor played in Games 1 & 2 and had started each post-season contest prior to Game 3. Heat Head Coach Troy G. Ward was asked who he would start for Game 4 in the post-game Press Conference on Saturday Night, and responded with a firm "No comment".

The winner of this all-Canadian match-up will advance to the Calder Cup Western Conference Finals and face either the Oklahoma City Barons or the San Antonio Rampage. Last night saw the Barons win an overtime thriller in Game 3 of their best-of-seven by a score of 2 - 1, which gives them a 2-1 series lead.

The Heat, Marlies and St. John's IceCaps remain the only three professional hockey teams in Canada still in action with all seven NHL teams eliminated.

You can catch the broadcast of Game 4 live on Country 107.1 beginning with the 6:30 pre-game show. The broadcast is also available on Country 107.1's website, theAHL.com and on the Rogers Radio App for your wireless device.
